AspireCare (“AspireCare”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by Aspire Digital Technologies, Inc., provides a mental wellness and emotional wellbeing application and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
AspireCare is a supportive wellbeing companion. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical or clinical diagnosis or treatment.
AspireCare is not a crisis service and cannot provide emergency help. If you are in crisis, having thoughts of harming yourself, or need urgent support, please contact your local emergency number immediately, or reach a crisis line. You can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Outside this region, a directory of crisis lines is available at findahelpline.com. AspireCare is a supportive wellbeing companion and is not a substitute for professional care.
1. Summary
- We collect the information you give us (such as your account details, mood check-ins, community posts, and messages to the AI companion) and some information automatically (such as usage activity and push notification tokens). Some content, like your gratitude jar, stays only on your device.
- We use your information to provide and personalize the Service, keep you gently on track with reminders and streaks, generate AI companion responses, and keep the community safe.
- We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Service, with your organization in aggregate form if you belong to one, and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
- You can access, correct, export, or delete your information, and you can delete your account at any time.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address, username, and a password (stored only as a secure hash), or, if you choose Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, the basic profile information those providers share with us. You may also add a profile photo (avatar).
- Onboarding preferences: details such as your selected role, wellbeing goals, mascot color, and reminder times.
- Wellbeing content: your daily mood check-ins and any optional notes, and your progress through guided activities and courses (including any certificates you earn).
- Community content: posts, comments, likes, reports, and any images you upload. Uploading an image uses your device’s photo library, with your permission. You may post anonymously (see the community section below).
- AI companion messages: the messages you send to the supportive AI companion so it can respond.
- Communications: messages you send us, for example by emailing support@aspirecare.app.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and activity: records of your daily activity in the app (such as app opens, check-ins, and lessons completed) used to calculate streaks and show your recent activity.
- Device and notifications: push notification tokens, device platform (iOS or Android), a device identifier, and your timezone, so we can deliver reminders and respect your quiet hours.
- Technical and log data: limited technical information generated when you use the Service, used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot it.
Information from others
- Google: if you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account.
- Apple: if you use Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and your email address. If you choose Apple’s Hide My Email option, we receive a private relay address instead of your real one, and we use that relay address to contact you. Apple lets you share your name only the first time you sign in.
- Your organization: if you join through an organization (for example a school, campus, or workplace) using an invite code or a verified email domain, we associate your account with that organization.
Information stored only on your device
Some content never leaves your device. Your gratitude jar entries are stored locally on your device and are not sent to or stored on our servers. We receive only a signal that you completed a gratitude activity, not its content, so we can update your streak.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and personalize the Service.
- To calculate streaks and send the reminders and notifications you have enabled, within your quiet-hours settings.
- To generate responses from the AI companion.
- To operate the community and keep it safe, including reviewing reported content and moderating for safety.
- To provide organization features and produce aggregate, anonymized wellbeing insights, subject to your sharing choice.
- To communicate with you about the Service, respond to your requests, and provide support.
- To protect the security and integrity of the Service and to comply with legal obligations.
4. The AI companion
When you chat with the AI companion, your messages are sent to trusted third-party AI providers (currently Google and Groq) that process them to generate a response. We ask you not to share information you would not want processed by an AI service, and not to rely on the companion for medical, legal, or emergency advice. The companion is a supportive tool, not a substitute for professional care.
5. Community and anonymous posts
The community is a moderated, supportive space. You can choose to post anonymously, which hides your identity from other members. For safety and moderation, we still associate content with the account that created it internally, and we may act on content that violates our rules. Please avoid sharing information that could identify you or others unless you intend to.
You can report a post to our moderators, and you can block another member, which hides your content from each other in both directions. We store the fact that you blocked someone so we can keep applying it; the person blocked is not told. You can review and undo blocks in the app under Profile, then Privacy controls. Blocking is offered on attributed posts only, because allowing it on an anonymous post could reveal who wrote it.
6. Organizations and insights
If you belong to an organization, you control how much of your activity is included in that organization’s insights through your sharing setting, which can be set to share nothing, share only aggregate summaries, or share full activity. Insights shown to organization administrators are aggregated and are designed not to expose any individual’s personal wellbeing data. Your organization may have its own privacy practices governing how it uses information about its members.
7. How we share information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: companies that help us run the Service under agreements that limit their use of your information. These include cloud database and infrastructure hosting, Google and Groq (AI companion), Cloudinary (image storage and delivery), and Expo (push notification delivery).
- Your organization: aggregate, anonymized insights as described above, based on your sharing setting.
- Legal and safety: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
- With your consent: when you ask us to share your information.
We do not sell your personal information.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, or enforce our agreements. Residual copies may persist in backups for a limited time.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, hashing of passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please help protect your account by keeping your login credentials confidential.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Access and update much of your information in the app.
- Control notifications, reminders, and quiet hours in your settings.
- Choose your organization sharing level, or turn organization sharing off entirely.
- Delete your account and associated data (see below).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@aspirecare.app. We will respond in line with applicable law.
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from within the app, under Profile → Account → Delete account. If you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, you can request deletion by emailing us at support@aspirecare.app. Deleting your account removes your personal information from the Service, subject to the limited exceptions described in the retention section above.
For a full breakdown of exactly what is deleted and what is not, see our account deletion page.
12. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where an organization offers AspireCare to members who are minors, that organization is responsible for obtaining any required parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at support@aspirecare.app and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
13. International users
We may process and store your information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where we transfer information across borders, we take steps to protect it consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
